The Design and On-Site Construction of Shenzhen 384 m High Level Emperor Skyscraper in China Bao Guangjian China Construction Third Bureau Steel Construction, Buildings Fix Engineering Co., 23/F Zhongjian Building No. 118, East Shennan Road, Shenzhen 518005, PRC Paper Number 35 Full paper on enclosed CD-ROM
This paper presents the characteristics in steel structural designing and quality control of China’s Shenzhen high level Emperor Skyscraper whose main building reaches 384 m in height, 3 levels underground, 81 levels above ground; total construction area is 270 000 m, total weight of adopted steel structure approximately reaches 24 500 tons. The steel structure welding seam length is 600 000 m. Altogether 500 000 pieces of high strength bolts and rivets are adopted. By using total construction quality control, the perpendicularity of the 384 m high level building steel structural construction is confined in 25 mm inner-inclined and 7 mm outer-inclined. The construction period was 380 working days, completed to the requirements of the steel structure design. 0 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
