1890 HOFM~, H On the behaviour of regularly Jointed rock slopes during defor~tion and rupture. In ~ . 1IF. BOCK MECHANICS, SUPPL. 3, JI/NE,197~, P~ i- 43. The inner kinematics of a whole slope cross-section as we] i as the development of latent zones of weakness are demonstrated by means of t~-dlmensioD~sl large.scale models c o n ~ s e d of rigid blocks (in the first series of tests ) and of equivalent material (in the second test series ). By mes~is of the structure models a classification according to typical deformation behaviour of slopes dependent on the position of Joints and on the Joint frlction angle is effected.

1902 PETROVSKI, J UNIV. SEDPJE, YU PASKAIOV, T UNIV. SEDPJE, YU JURUKOVBKI, D UNIV. SEDPJE, YU Dynamic full-scale test of an esrthfill dam. 13F, 5T, liB. GEOTEL~N IQUE 2V24, N2, JUNE, 1974, P193 - 206. A vibration test of the Mavrovo dam in West Macedonia was carried out in order to find out the dam's dynamic properties. This eerthfill dam has a central clay core 56 metres high, 215 metres long at the crest and 286 metres thick at the base; average slopes ere 1:2.50 and 1:2.86 for downstream end upstream slopes respectively. mathematical model was formulated using experimentally obtained characteristics. Two theoretical solutions were used showing significant correlation with the experi mental results. It is shown that dynamic response for earthfill dams for small amplitudes of vibrations can be predicted by such a technique. 1903 BR0 ILI, L Q Large in-situ tests of a rock fall. In German. 8F. ROCK MECHANICS, SUPPL.3, JUNE, 197h,P69-78. ~rtificisl rock falls were triggered by mesns of blasting on mount San Msrtir~) close to the city of Leeco in Italy. The different phases of movement were recorded by means of seven film cameras. The films showed that the important parameters of such movements, velocity, height and length of flight, are mainly influenced by the size of the rock blocks involved. The results of these tests are used ss a basis for the desi~a of protection devices in this area.
