S t r u c t u r a l Integrity A s s e s s m e n t - A M a j o r C o n f e r e n c e M a n c h e s t e r , U K , 31 M a r c h - 2 A p r i l 1992 This major conference is being organised by the Dynamic Testing Agency and the Engineering Integrity Society to cover all aspects of the assessment of the integrity of engineering structures and components from conception and design, through operation, to residual life evaluation and life extension. The conference will provide a forum for the exchange of expertise and knowledge amongst engineers from a wide range of professional backgrounds, disciplines and industries including power generation, aero-space, transport, off-shore, process, construction, and the universities and polytechnics. There will also be an exhibition of structural integrity assessment products and services. The conference will be held in the Owens Park Conference Centre, the University of Manchester, 3 miles south of the city centre and easily accessible by road, rail or air (via Manchester's International Airport). The scope of the conference is wide-ranging to encompass those disciplines necessary for integrity assessment. Papers are invited on the following topics, but these are not intended to be exclusive. * failure evaluation: fracture, fatigue, creep, instability * structural testing, modelling and simulation; * material properties in structural design and failure etc; * quality assurance and standards for structural diagnosis; evaluation; * structural monitoring; * residual life evaluation; * structural dynamics; * N D E techniques and applications; , life extension; * failure investigations; * procedures and documentation for structural assess* stress analysis and measurement. ment, reliability and safety; Abstracts of papers (200-300 words) should be sent before 30 April 1991 to Prof. P. Stanley, University of Manchester, Department of Engineering, Simon Building, Oxford Road, Manchester M13 9PL. Invited KEYNOTE speakers will introduce major topics The papers presented will be published in a volume of conference proceedings. The following deadlines must be met: 30 April 1991 Latest date for receipt of abstracts Notification of acceptance 31 May 1991 Completed papers required by 30 September 1991 Final version required by 30 November 1991 Conference 31 March-2 April 1992 The Organising Committee consists of J.
