Gumm Chemical offers a variety of zinc and alloy zinc plating solutions. The Zinic zinc-nickel alloy process provides 500% greater corrosion resistance than conventional zinc plating and has eliminated cadmium and cyanide toxicity problems while providing 333% greater corrosion resistance on steel parts protected by cadmium plating. &mm’s SZ-240 and 82-242 Neutral Tin Zinc process, an alloy of 70% tin/30% zinc readily accepts a chromate conversion coating. The deposit is highly corrosion resistant, with excellent solderability and ductility. The process uses no cyanides, fluorides, or pyrophosphates.

Tin-Zinc Plating Process Atotech USA Inc. Somerset, N.J. Atotech and ITRI Ltd. (formerly the International Tin Research Institute) have announced the completion of the commercial development of the Stanzec tin-zinc plating process. Tim-zinc coatings (approximately 80% tinRO% zinc) offer excellent corrosion protection, comparable to cadmium. and don’t suffer the drawback of the voluminous white corrosion product of pure zinc or high zinc alloy coatings. Control of earlier plating baths has been difficult. The new process. Stanzec 2, has the features required of a commercial system-wide operating windows (temperature, current density), easy bath analysis, and infrequent bath adjustment. Main areas of application include aerospace, automotive, and marine corrosion protection of steel, primarily to replace cadmium, which has known toxic and environmental disadvantages. Other markets include fasteners. and as a coating for computer frames. cmcs, and covers. Circle 110 on reader information
