ID 8049 contains 2k x 8 ROM, 128 x 8 RAM, 27 I/O lines and an 8-bit timer/counter. ID 8039 is identical to the 8049 except that it does not have ROM memory and is mainly intended for prototype and preproduction systems employing external program memories. Both devices can operate at high speed (up to 1 1 MHz clock rate).
