ANNOUNCEMENTS 1986 CURT P. RICHTER PRIZE IN PSYCHONEUROENDOCRINOLOGY Through the generosity of Pergamon Press, an Annual Prize has been established by the International Society of Psychoneuroendocrinology (ISPNE) for meritorious research in the area of Psychoneuroendocrinology. The sum of $ i 000 will be awarded annually for the best essay or manuscript (original research, or a review mcmmng original research) submitted by a scientist or physician under 40 years of age by 1 January 1986. The winning paper will automatically be considered for publication in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology and should be prepared according to the journal's instructions to authors. The aim of the Prize is to encourage younger scientists to contribute to this interdisciplinary field. All submissions will be screened by a broad committee of established psychoneuroendocrinologists. The prize will be awarded at the 1986 ISPNE Congress in Bergen, Norway, 29 J u n e - 3 July 1986. INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF PSYCHOSOMATIC OBSTETRICS A N D GYNAECOLOGY Melbourne, Australia, March 1986 The Australian Society of Psychosomatic Obstetrics and Gynaecology is proud to host the 8th International Congress of the Society in Melbourne, Australia, commencing l0 March 1986. This will be the first such Congress to be held outside Europe and the Middle East. The Congress has been timed to overlap Melbourne's annual festival, Moomba. Moomba concludes with a spectacular fireworks display which will be a highlight of the official opening night of the Congress. Moomba is an Aboriginal word meaning "Let's get together and have fun!", certainly one of the aims of this Congress. 365
