Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide March 2--4, 1987 Marriot Marquis Hotel, New York, NY, U.S.A. Sponsored by The New York Academy of Sciences The conference will focus on current research on the molecular biology of the vasoactive intestinal Peptide (VIP) gene; interactions with classical neurotransmitters in the brain and the peripheral nervous system; the VIP receptor; physiological role in exocrine secretion, neuroendocrine function, and relaxation of vascular and non-vascular smooth muscle; possible significance in cystic fibrosis, bronchial asthma, male impotence and other clinical disorders; and potential as a therapeutic agent. 1987 Histochemical Society Meeting April 3-5, 1987 Fairmont Hotel, New Orleans, LA, U.S.A. The meeting will feature four symposia: 1) Cellular and Molecular Probes in Cytochemistry; 2) Use of Fluorogenic Dyes in Biomedical Research; 3) Ultrastructural Immunocytochemistry Theory and Advances in Postembedding Staining; 3) Immunocytochemistry and Advances in Diagnostic Pathology. The Vector Young Investigator awards for travel expenses and the Ralph D. Lillie Award will be presented at the meeting. Young investigators and students are encouraged to apply when they submit abstracts (see November issue of J. Histochem. Cytochem. for details).
