The American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery Foundation is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The AAO-HNS Foundation designates this educational activity as category 1 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the AMA. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Category 1 credit is awarded on an hour/hour basis when documented by the appropriate evaluation form. *The AAO-HNS Foundation designates this continuing medical education activity as category 2 of the Physician's Recognition Award of the American Medical Association. One credit hour may be claimed for each hour of participation. Category 2 AMA/PRA credit hours are self reporting, and records of participation are not maintained by the AAO-HNS Foundation.

Policy Statement: Disclosure and Continuing Medical Education Activities The AAO-HNSF endorses the guidelines for accredited continuing medical education programs as set forward in the ACCME’s “Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education” and adheres to these guidelines in the conduct of its educational activities. The Foundation maintains control over the development of its educational programs and the selection of topics and presenters. A full disclosure of proprietary interests shall be disclosed by all presenters and faculty members, and the presence of such a relationship will be reported to the program attendees, both in the program’s printed material and in the presentation. The AAO-HNSF is committed to the nonpromotional advancement of knowledge and science in otolaryngology–head and neck surgery. August 1998
