GE Medical Systems (GE) and the Association of University Radiologists (AUR) announce that nominations for 2001 GE-AUR Radiology Research Academic Fellowships (GERRAF) are now being accepted. Selected recipients will receive 2year GERRAF fellowships effective with the academic year beginning July 2001. GERRAF fellowships provide a stipend of $65,000 for each of 2 years to support original clinical and health services research in technology assessment, health and economic outcome methods, decision analysis in diagnostic imaging, informatics, and related areas of diagnostic imaging. Recipients are chosen by an independent review board that comprises eminent academic and clinical radiologists, research methodologists, and other physicians. To qualify, prospective GERRAF candidates must be board-certified radiologists holding junior faculty appointments at accredited radiology training institutions in the United States or Canada. Final selection criteria include the goal and quality of the proposed research project, the level of cooperation and commitment of sponsoring institutions, and the recommendations of mentors and colleagues. Qualifying institutions are entitled to nominate one GERRAF candidate each year. However, an institution may have only one active Fellow at any given time. The nomination deadline is October 31, 2000, and recipients will be announced February 1,2001. For information and a copy of the nomination forms, contact • • • • • • • • •
