44th Annual Session American Association of Endodontists April 29-May 3, 1987 San Antonio, deep in the heart of Texas, will host the AAE's 44th annual session April 29-May 3, 1987. Our tenth largest city, San Antonio is a unique and graceful blend of the spirit and style of many cultures - - Spanish, Mexican, French, Irish and German among others. Much of what makes the city unique can be found along the River Walk, the Paseo del Rio, where, twenty feet below street level, the jade green San Antonio river winds its way through the heart of the city and flat-bottomed barges act as river taxis or sightseeing boats. Along the river's banks are some of the city's finest hotels, restaurants, clubs and shops featuring curios, jewelry, arts and crafts, fine food, and music from mariachis to country and western to dixieland and modern jazz. Visitors can also hop aboard an open-air, wooden trolley or a graceful horsedrawn carriage and visit the city at street level. The Alamo, where 188 men died for the cause of Texas independence, and El Mercado, the bustling Mexican marketplace, are only a couple of "must see" stops along the way. Visitors will also want to explore the city's culinary delights, a variety of temptations highlighted by local fare including mesquite barbecues and tantalizing Tex-Mex.

The climate of San Antonio is warm and friendly, with three hundred days of sunshine each year and consistently mild temperatures that support an abundance of outdoor recreation such as golf, tennis, swimming, sailing, and jogging to name a few. Our Annual Session program will reflect the variety and excitement of San Antonio. Scientific, and general interest sessions will focus on "Progress Through Excellence," by providing the best in education and entertainment. The San Antonio Convention Center, and the Hilton and Hyatt hotels will house our functions, members and guests. They are all within walking distance and are ideally suited to our needs, assuring excellent accommodations and facilities. Registration packets containing complete details will be mailed to members in January via first-class mail (airmail for foreign members). Members who do not receive their packet by the first week of February are asked to notify the AAE Central Office. Non-members may request a packet by writing to the American Association of Endodontists, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Suite 1501, Chicago, IL 60611.
