PATENT ABSTRACTS

4657851 BREAST CANCER DIAGNOSTIC BLOOD TEST William F Feller, Judith A Kantor assigned to Georgetown University A method for detecting an antigen in a plasma or serum sample, which comprises conditioning the sample, wherein conditioning comprises either diluting the sample by a factor of at least 100 or dissociating the antigen in the sample from binding proteins with acid, base, or a chaotropic agent; drying the conditioned sampled; and detecting the antigen in the dried sample using an immunological assay is disclosed. The method is particularly useful for the detection of antigens associated with breast cancer.

4658017 METHOD FOR THE LARGE SCALE PURIFICATION OF HUMAN FIBROBLAST INTERFERON Wlodzimierz E Dembinski, Eugene Sulkowski assigned to Health Research Inc (Roswell Park Division) A process for the large scale purification of human fibroblast interferon produced by human diploid fibroblasts under superinduction conditions characterized by a sequence of four chromatographic steps namely: (1) separation on CM-agarose; (2) separation on ConAagarose; (3) separation on phenyl-agarose; and (4) elimination of ethylene glycol using CMagarose which process yields a final overall recovery not less than 60% of the crude interferon starting material and having a specific activity not less than 1£33 10+ HU 8 + L units per mg of protein. + REein. + REein. + REein. + REein. + RE

Hybrid cell line for production of monoclonal antibody to an antigen found on all normal human T cells and cutaneous T lymphoma cells. The hybrid is formed by fusing splenocytes from immunized CAFI mice with P3X63AgSUI myeloma cells. Diagnostic and therapeutic uses of the monoclonal antibody are also disclosed.

4658020 MONOCLONAL ANTIBODY TO HUMAN HELPER T CELLS Patrick C Kung, Gideo Goldstein assigned to Ortho Pharmaceutical Corporation Hybrid cell line for production of monoclonal antibody to an antigen found on all normal human helper T cells. The hybrid is formed by fusing splenocytes from immunized CAF1 mice with P3X63Ag8UI myeloma cells. Diagnostic and therapeutic uses of the monoclonal antibody are also disclosed.

4659567 MOLECULES WITH ANTIBODY COMBINING SITES THAT BIND TO HYDROLYTIC TRANSITION STATES Alfons Tramontano. Richard A Lerner assigned to Scripps Clinic & Research Foundation A phosphonamidate or phosphonate analogligand having a conformation that substantially corresponds to the conformation of a hydrolytic transition state of an amide or ester ligand is used to produce antibodies of predetermined specificity. The antibodies include an epitope that binds to and thereby stabilizes the tetrahedral carbon atom of the amide or ester hydrolysis transition state of the ligand to hydrolyze the ligand at a predetermined site.
