PATENT ABSTRACTS the compartment with the exterior of the dispenser. 4716032 AEROSOL SPRAY COMPOSITION FOR MASTITIS PREVENTION Geoffrey Westfall, Franklin D Haase assigned to Westfall Geoffrey A method, composition and containerized product for use in preventing the disease of mastitis in dairy cows and other animals. The invention employs a homogeneous disinfectant composition in the form of an aerosol spray which applies disinfectant to the teat while at the same time chilling the teat, particularly at the lower end where the teat sphincter muscle is located. Use of the present disinfectant composition, which contains an aerosol propellant such as dimethyl ether, results in chilling temperatures of about 25 degrees to 35 degrees F. being attained on the exterior surface and orifice end of the teat. By such treatment, the teat sphincter is caused to contract and close the teat orifice, thus reducing the incidence of infection.

4716033 MEDICAMENT ADSORBATES WITH SURFACTANT AND THEIR PREPARATION Joh Denick assigned to Warner-Lambert Company A medicament adsorbate and process for making same. The medicament adsorbate comprises a complex magnesium aluminum, silicate having sorbed therein a medicament drug and a surfactant.

4716035 ORAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR TREATING GINGIVITIS Padmin Sampathkumar assigned to The Procter & Gamble Company This invention relates to oral compositions comprising certain organic peroxy acid antigingivitis agents and a source of F- fluoride ions as an anti-

caries agent. Organic peroxy acid-based antigingivitis agents useful in the present invention include monoperphthalic acid and its derivatives, and 1,12-dodecanedioic peroxy acid and its derivatives. Sources of F- fluoride ions for use in the present invention include sodium fluoride, stannous fluoride, strontium fluoride, indium fluoride, and amine fluorides. The present invention further relates to methods for treating or preventing diseases of the oral cavity in humans or lower animals with reduced staining of the teeth or dentures. These methods comprise topically applying to the oral surfaces of the human or lower animal a safe and effective amount of a composition of the present invention.

4716036 STABILIZED DENTAL CREAM CONTAINING VEGETABLE OIL Sandra L Schelm assigned to Colgate-Palmolive Company Dental cream stabilized for contact with a polyolefin resin surface of a package such as a laminate tube, a mechanical dispenser or a flexible sachet. The dental cream contains as at least the major dentally acceptable water-insoluble polishing material alpha-alumina trihydrate, a liquid vehicle and a gelling agent and an agent to reduce pH containing phosphate ion. The liquid vehicle contains water, glycerine and sorbitol and a vegetable oil as in additive to reduce syneresis due to contact between the dental cream and the polyolefin resin.

4716037 METHOD OF ELIMINATING THE CORROSIVITY OF HAIR CONDITIONING COMPOSITIONS Constance E Erdman, Timothy Padden assigned to S C Johnson & Son Inc The addition of a quaternary ammonium phosphate compound to hair conditioning compositions substantially prevents corrosion to stainless steel manufacturing equipment employed in the preparation of the hair conditioners.
