Chu-lai Hsiao, Bruce B Mason, Alan R Davis assigned to American Home Products Corporation There is disclosed a D N A transfer vector capable of replication in either a yeast cell or a bacterial cell and having inserted therein a DNA segment coding for human WA rotavirus surface antigen VP7. The transfer vector carrying the foreign DNA is used to transform yeast cells in order to produce the surface antigen VP7 which is capable of eliciting in vivo production of neutralizing antibodies with respect to human WA rotavirus. The surface antigen VP7 so elaborated and its use in a pharmaceutical vaccine composition are also disclosed.
Double-stranded DNA characterized by having sequences complementary to a single-stranded DNA which has a molecular size of about 2.67 Kb and is derived from mungbean yellow mosaic virus, and giving the restriction endonuclease cleavage map shown in FIG. l of the accompanying drawings; and double-stranded DNA characterized by having sequences complementary to a single-stranded DNA which has a molecular size of about 2.70 Kb and is derived from mungbean yellow mosaic virus, and giving the restriction endonuclease cleavage map shown in FIG. 2 of the accompanying drawings; and hybrid DNAs having the double-stranded DNAs inserted thoreinto. 4855406 ONCOGENE-RELATED

4855231 REGULATORY REGION FOR HETEROLOGOUS GENE EXPRESSION IN YEAST David W Stroman, Paul F Brust, Steven B Ellis, Thomas R Gingeras, Michael M Harpold, Juerg Tschopp assigned to Phillips Petroleum Cornpany Novel DNA sequences which are responsive to the presence of methanol, catabolite nonrepressing carbon sources and carbon source starvation are provided. In addition, novel constructs including these DNA sequences, as well as transformed organisms therewith are provided. Processes for producing the DNA sequences and constructs of the invention are detailed. The production of polypeptide product under the control of the regulatory regions of the invention is demonstrated.
Noboru Yanaihara, Kaoru Abe, Shizuoka, Japan assigned to Noboru Yanaihara et al Disclosed are an oncogene-related pcptide characterized in that the peptide comprises a portion of the amino acid sequence o f a gene product coded for by an oncogene, an antigen or immunogen formed from the oncogene-related peptide and a carrier, an antibody against such antigen or immunogen, and a method of determining a gene product coded for by an oncogene by an immunoreaction with use of such antibody. 4855409 NOVEL METHOD

A novel polypcptide which is at least equivalent in biological activity to IFN- gamma and is resistant to dimerization and polymerization, a transformant which carries a D N A coding for a novel polypeptide, and a method of producing a novel polypeptide from the culture of the transformant. The DNA coding for the novel polypeptide can be produced, for example, starting with a known plasmid which contains the IFNgamma gene (cDNA), namely pHITtrp1101 or pHITtrp 1201. Insertion of this DNA into a vec-
