4901908 ALUMINUM MATERIAL FOR BRAZING, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING SAME, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING HEAT EXCHANGER MADE OF ALUMINUM ALLOY Kengi Negura, Ken Yamamoto, Shigeo Ito, Masahiro Shimoya, Kariya, Japan assigned to Nippondenso Co Ltd An aluminum material for brazing, comprising a core made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy, and a layer coated on the surface of the core. The layer is made of zinc or an alloy of zinc-andaluminum and a brazing alloy having a melting point which is lower than that of the core by a predetermined value. The zinc or the alloy of zinc-and-aluminum and the brazing alloy have different melting points. Also disclosed are a method of manufacturing an aluminum material for brazing and a method of manufacturing an aluminum alloy heat exchanger by use of the Al material for brazing.

49023~ CERAMIC TO METAL BRAZING Buel D Napier, George W Wolter, Renita King assigned to Cummins Engine Company Inc A method for forming extremely strong ceramicto-metal joints is provided which is particularly applicable to the formation of components for internal combustion engines. The present method simultaneously brazes a ceramic to a metal and creates a normallized microstructure and desired mechanical in the metal in a single heating step. The ceramic is metallized, a suitable alloy is applied, and the ceramic-alloy-metal

composite is first heated to about 160 degrees F. to 1750 degrees F. for about one hour and then gas quenched in nitrogen or argon, or a gas with similar heat transfer capabilities.

4902839 PROCESS FOR PREPARING FLUORINATED C4 TO C6 HYDROCARBONS AND NOVEL CYCLIC FLUORINATED HYDROCARBONS AND THEIR USE AS PROPELLANT GAS AND WORKING FLUID FOR HEAT PUMP SYSTEMS Dietmar Bielefeldt, Albrecht Marhold, Michael Negele, Ratingen, Federal Republic Of Germany assigned to Bayer Aktiengesellschaft This invention relates to a process for preparing fluorinated C4 to C6 hydrocarbons by catalyrically hydrogenating, in the presence of a base, at least partially halogenated olefins. This invention also relates to certain novel cyclic fluorinated C5 and C6 hydrocarbons prepared by the process of this invention. This invention further relates to the use of fluorinated C4 to C6 hydrocarbons as propellant gas or as working fluid for heat pump systems.

4903~3 AIR CONDITIONING APPARATUS Gershon Meckler assigned to Camp Dresser & McKee; Meckler Gershon; Purdue John C Air conditioning apparatus for a building having an electrical grid operatively connected to receive electricity from a utility is disclosed.
