driven by the combustion gas, for driving the compressor. A steam-driven mixer boosts the air and mixes the steam and the air. A heat exchanger is arranged downstream of the turbine for heating the mixed gas from the mixer with heat from the turbine exhaust gas. A heat recovery steam generator is arranged downstream of the heat exchanger for producing steam with heat from the exhaust gas. An air line is provided for introducing a first portion of the compressed air from the compressor to the combustor and for introducing a second portion of the compressed air to the mixer. A main steam line is provided for introducing a portion of the steam from the heat recovery steam generator to the mixer. A mixed gas line is provided for introducing the mixed gas from the mixer to the combustor via the heat exchanger. The mixer can include either a steam turbine-driven compressor or an ejector. A second portion of the steam produced by the heat recovery steam generator can be segregated for use by external utilities.

5419267 METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DRYING THE FUEL OF A FLUIDIZIED-BED BOILER

5419284 EXHAUST-GAS FULLY FIRED TYPE BOILER AND METHOD OF WASTE HEAT RECOVERY USING THE SAME Kobayashi Hiroshi; Ueda Yoshiharu; Yamamoto Masamichi; Tou Keiryo; Ishigai Seikan; Miura Sentaro; Furushima Kiyoshi Yasu, JAPAN Assigned to Hirakawa Guidom Corporation A waste heat recovery method can provide heat recovery from exhaust gases, full firing of exhaust gases, and auxiliary burning, either simultaneously or independently. Such method is carried out by installing a tube-nested (or heat-absorbing water tube furnace-inserted type) combustion chamber in a boiler of a cogeneration system or combined cycle system or the like which generates both heat and power. The boiler is provided with a combined full firing burner and auxiliary burner confronted by the exhaust gas entrance. This structure allows for elimination of a separate auxiliary chamber and thus has made it possible to provide a waste heat boiler of a simplified structure which is smaller in size and thus occupies less space, at a reduced price and with a greatly expanded heat-to-electricity ratio. Accordingly, the boiler of the invention has a greatly extended range of applications.

Raiko Markku HyvinkFINLAND Assigned tolmatranVoima Oy PCT No. PCT/FI92/00310 Sec. 371 Date May 26, 1994 Sec. 102(e) Date May 26, 1994 PCT Filed Nov. 18, 1992 PCT Pub. No. WO93/11388 PCT Pub. Date Jun. 10, 1993. The present publication discloses a method and an apparatus for drying the fuel used for firing a fluidized-bed boiler (1). The hot, inert solids of the fluidized bed are circulated by a regulated rate from the furnace (2) to a simple dryer (11) incorporated into the fuel feed line (7) to the boiler (1), whereby the fuel is dried and steam is generated. By virtue of controlled bed solids recirculation, a constant temperature of the dryer (11) can be maintained, thus permitting the omission of all heat transfer surfaces from the dryer (11). The nearly clean steam released from the drying process is routed from the dryer (11) to useful applications.

5419285 BOILER ECONOMIZER AND CONTROL SYSTEM Gurevich Arkadiy; Pasha Akber Louisville, KY, UNITED STATES Assigned to Henry Vogt Machine Co An increased efficiency boiler is provided, which, instead of trying to eliminate steaming in the economizer, designs the economizer to permit steaming, and a control is provided for the boiler which takes into account the heat input to the boiler as well as the water level in the steam drum and the reliability of the economizer.
