water-lean glycol for reintroduction into the contacting zone and a water-containing gaseous overhead. The gaseous overhead is partially condensed and the resulting gaseous components are returned to the contacting zone. In a preferred embodiment, the glycol is further purified by contact in a separate stripping column with dry stripping gas under a pressure lower than that of the regeneration zone.

PERFORMANCE ENHANCED GAS TURBINE POWERPLANTS

Janes Clarence W Sacramento, CA, UNITED STATES assigned to California Energy Commission

METHOD OF BIOLOGICAL DENITRIFICATION

A gas turbine driven powerplant having one or more compressors for producing a down stream air flow, a heat exchanger positioned down stream of the compressors followed by a side stream flow coolant line, a regenerator positioned down stream of the heat exchanger and side stream coolant line, a combustor positioned down stream of the regenerator, one or more turbines positioned down stream of the combustor and mechanically coupled to the compressors, and a power turbine positioned down stream of the turbines. Combustible effluent flows through the heat exchanger and to the combustor, and air discharged from the compressors flows through the heat exchanger and to the coolant line and regenerator. Heat is transferred from the compressor discharge air to the combustible effluent, thereby producing cooling air and heating the combustible effluent. The heat exchanger can be a heat exchanger or a methane/steam reformer which produces a hydrogen-rich, low NOx, steam diluted combustible effluent. In further embodiments, a small portion of the cool air is combined with the recuperation water in a heat recovery unit to allow vaporization of the water throughout the initial portion of the heat exchange path and form a two phased feed of water and air to the combustor. Additionally, in all embodiments a portion of the cooled compressed air can be processed by a compressor/expander for providing coolant to the turbines, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.

HYDROCARBON EMISSION REDUCTION Behrens Steven D; Bullin Jerry College Station, TX, UNITED STATES assigned to Bryan Research & Engineering inc An improved process for the glycol dehydration of water-containing natural gas comprises contacting the natural gas and glycol in a contacting zone to produce a dried natural gas and a water-rich glycol, and heating the water-rich glycol in a regeneration zone to produce a

S&mid Lawrence A Manhattan, KS, UNITED STATES assigned to Schmid Lawrence A A process for providing biological denitrification of a previously nitrified wastewater includes the initial step of supplying to a tank an influent including a relatively small concentration of biomass and a fraction of nitrates. The influent is supplied adjacent a bottom of the tank, and a volume of waste water is retained in the tank. This volume in the tank has a biomass concentration greater than the influent biomass concentration, and the biomass in the tank provides biological denitrification of the wastewater during movement of the wastewater through the tank. Effluent is delivered from the tank, and includes a biomass concentration substantially equal to the influent biomass concentration and is substantially free of nitrates relative to the influent, the effluent being drawn from a top of the tank. During the process, the wastewater in the tank is intermittently mixed to maintain the biomass in suspension within the tank and to assist in controlling the concentration of biomass in the tank.

the electrolytic solution; reacting lithium with a reacting agent to recover lithium in the form of lithium hydroxide or a lithium salt; carrying out filtration to recover the separator, the collector and a positive electrode material comprising the positive electrode active material; and carrying out distillation to recover the organic solvent. This makes it possible to safely treat lithium cells having been used up, containing organic solvents and metallic lithium, and efficiently recover the resources. This also makes it easy to recycle lithium cells.

5491121 ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY COLOR-CODED FORMS AND METHOD FOR CREATING SAME Kuchta Ron Naperville, IL, UNITED STATES An array of color-coded papers that can be collected and recycled with white paper without separation. The sheets are individually color-coded with a printing ink including an oil-based vehicle component and a dye-free pigment component that is dispersible in a surfactant-water mix used to recycle the paper. Preferably, the color code is on a marginal area, with the image area comprising the remainder of the sheets. The invention also relates to multi-part business form sets using an array of such sheets, arranged so that each sheet is distinguishable from another sheet in the form set by the color code.

5491190 REPULPABLE HOT MELT POLYMER/FATTY ACID COMPOSITIONS FOR FIBROUS PRODUCTS Sandvick Paul E; Verbrugge Calvin J Racine County, WI, UNITED STATES assigned to S C Johnson & Son Inc Hot melt polymer/fatty acid compositions are described that render fibrous products such as paper, paperboard and corrugated paper containers water-resistant at room temperature, but enable such articles to be repulped and recycled when the coated articles are repulped in a heated nearly neutral to alkaline pH aqueous medium. The compositions comprise from about 5% to 50% by weight of an addition polymer of from about 5 to 95 mole percent of an ethylenically unsaturated monocarboxylic acid or 50 to 95 mole percent of an ethylene-1,Zdicarboxylic acid or anhydride and the balance to a total of 100 mole percent of at least one additional ethylenically unsaturated monomer selected from the group consisting of 1-alkenes having
