18 spectrometric determination of cross-sections of molecules for ionization by electrons. Note II : Cross-sections of some hydrocarbons. Relative cross-sections of some hydrocarbons for ionization by electrons were determined mass-spectrometrically using a method based on viscous flow conditions. The results are discussed by comparison with data obtained by previous authors. An exception to the rule of additivity of molecular ionization crosssections was found in the case of butane isomers. 564. Mass

A simple method of determining total relative cross-sections for ionization by electron impact is described. The results obtained for a group of ten gases are discussed and compared with those obtained by former workers. G, De Maria, er al., Ricerca Scientijka, (Italy), Series II, Part II, Sect.
