Low-dimensional Co-operative Phenomena and the Possibility of Higli-temperature Superconductivity. A NATO Advanced Study Institute on this topic will be held at the ‘Seehof-Hotel’, Starnberg, Oberayern, GFR, September 3—13, 1974. I..ecture courses will cover the physics and chemistry of organic and inorganic solids with low-dimensional intramolecular electronic interactions, e.g. ‘TCNQ’ compounds and linear chain transition metal complexes. This includes a discussion of the magnetic, electrical and optical properties of these compounds and of the spectroscopic methods which have been used to identify low. dimensional co-operative phenomena. Further details and application forms will be available later in the year, from Prof. Dr. H.J. Keller, Anorg-Chem. lnstitut der Universität Heidelberg, D-6900 Heidelberg, Ln Neuenheimer FeId 7, GFR.
9—11 September 1974 Sixteenth Conference on Electronic Materials, Boston, TheMassachusetts, Conference is U.S.A. sponsored by the Electronic Materials Committee of AIME. The general subject will be: ‘Preparation and Properties of Electronic
26—30 August 1974 Fourth International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy. The Fourth International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy will be held at Bowdoin College, Brunswick, Maine. This conference is the fourth of the series which began in Ottawa (1969), followed by Oxford (1970), and Reims (1972).
Materials’. Among the specific topics to be emphasized according to preliminary plans, are silicon materials, optoelectronic materials, and materials for microwave applications. The deadline for submitting 200—300 word abstracts of contributed papers is May 1, 1974. Papers presented will be considered for publication in the Journal of Electronic Materials.
