J. E.: Grant's Atlas of Anatomy. 7th ed., 608 pages, Williams & Wilkins Co., Baltimore, U.S.A., $ 30.00.
ANDERSON,
A new edition of an old classic has appeared, the first since I.C.B. Grant died in 1973. Through the editions the atlas has steadily improved and now stands as an excellent guide for dissections, including the ones oral surgeons are doing. For the first time radiographs have been added; although the number is sparse the addition is valuable and ought to be enlarged in a future edition. It is easy to get around in the atlas, divided into 10 region-sections including a new one dealing with anutomy of the child. If the departmental atlas of anatomy has to be renewed or supplemented, this one can be recommended. E. HJ¢RTING-HANSEN, Copenhagen, Denmark

GABOVICH,
This publication is a translation from the Russian language by the National Institute of Dental Research. The book presents a comprehensive study of the role of fluorine in clinical and prophylactic medicine. The basic biological, clinical and medico-technical aspects of the question are presented in the light of a 20-year study of the problem by the authors and their colleagues at the KAZAN State Medical Institute, USSR. The book is a valuable source for information about the work of Russian investigators. Many references surveyed are accessible only in this publication, which is the only place one can find an organized presentation of the Russian studies. E. RANDERS Denmark
