A measurement of the Ξ hyperon lifetimes and α parameters

When calculating the corrections which were applied to the - 0 lifetime, it was correctly assumed that the errors on these corrections could be added in quadrature to the statistical errors. In addition the correction to zxo for the bias introduced by the A template was originally computed to be (0.19 -+ 0.03) × 10 -10 s using MonteCarlo events. The effect of the template has now been included directly in the normalization integral of the likelihood function giving a correction of (0.05 -+ 0.11) × 10-1°s. The two estimates are consistent and we prefer the latter since it avoids any Monte-Carlo calculation and gives directly the errors on the corrected lifetime. For the - 0 lifetime we now obtain: 0.32) X 10-10s. r o_. = (2.90 --+ 0.27] The -'-- lifettme is unchanged and this small change to r_._o does not alter the conclusions of the paper.
