A Message For Our Readers As we approach the end of the current year, we have enough revised manuscripts on hand to fill more than 6200 pages. Since our current page budget does not permit us to print this number of pages in 1993, the management of Pergamon Press has agreed to let us publish the last of the 24 issues of 1993 in November and to start the 1994 volume in December of this year. This explains why issue 20 of the current year contained only 96 pages and why issues 21/22 and 23/24 are being published in November and contain only 80 pages each. As a result of this procedure, we will close 1993 at the end of November with a record of 5119 pages, thereby avoiding an expensive page over-run. In addition, issue 23/24 will contain the annual index for 1993 and the other items that traditionally appear in the year-end issue. All of the remaining papers that were scheduled for publication in 1993 will appear in issues 1 and 2 of volume 58 for 1994 that will be published in December of 1993. Since the page budget for 1994 is 800 pages larger than the 1993 budget, we expect to be able to accomodate in volume 58 all ofthe manuscripts that will be accepted for publication in 1994. We regret the inconvenience these changes in the normal publication schedule may have caused our authors and subscribers. The growth of Geochhnica et Cosmochhnica Acta in 1993 has exceeded our expectations and reflects the vigor of our profession worldwide. We will do our best in 1994 to continue publishing the journal on time and ask for your indulgence as we work with our publisher to avoid a page over-run in 1993 without actually delaying the publication of any papers.
