That part of the retainer directly in contact with the lingual surfaces of the anterior teeth should be relieved if the 0.028 wire is to be given a lingual adjustment.

Leon Williams and Alfred Gysi, dentists tried in many ways to measure iif precise numerical quantities certain relationships that would give a truely harmonious value to the patient, and ingloriously failed.
