Since publication of the most recent List of Cer tified Dental Materials and Devices revised to Jan 1, 1975, and published in the January 1975 issue of t h e j o u r n a l ( j a d a 90:183), the follow ing changes have been made in the List. Addition—The following materials conform to the American Dental Association Specifica tion No. 1 for Certified Alloys for Dental Amal gam and Specification No. 25 for Dental Gyp sum Products and are being added to the List as new certifications.

The Acceptance Program of the Council applies to materials and devices for which evidence of safety and usefulness has been established by biological, laboratory, and/or clinical evaluation where appropriate. Details concerning the Coun cil’s Acceptance Program may be found in the Council’s publication Guide to Dental Materials and Devices. The Council’s program provides for classifica tion of devices as Acceptable, Provisionally Acceptable, or Unacceptable. Products are re
considered periodically, and decisions are sub ject to change at any time that a substantial amount of new evidence becomes available.
