RE Components has developed a high flexibility silicone diaphragm for shower control valves. closed valves in pipelines and clogged filters, while permitting high pipe velocities d u r i n g clean-in-place cycles. The c o m p a n y carried out extensive research to find the most suitable combination of food grade materials capable of operating at such a high temperature and still offering a reasonably long flex life. The exact combination was chosen after many alternatives, including silicone and nitrile, had proved unsuitable for the demands of the application.
new EXtronic ® solenoid-type metering pumps from ProMinent feature effective all-round explosion protection making them suitable for use in hazardous firedamp locations. They fulfil all specifications for EXprotection of Group I. The advantage of these pumps is that
the entire pump, including the liquid end, is explosion proof and has BVS approval. The housing of this version is made of bronze thus excluding the possibility of sparking. As standard in such applications, the drive voltage is 500 V. The entire pump is designed with type of enclosure IP 65 thus ensuring dust and hose water cannot enter. In the same way as their sister models of EX Group II, the new ProMinent EXtronic metering pumps are based on the short-stroke solenoid-driven diaphragm-type metering pump from ProMinent. Their mechanical design is kept uncomplicated as the maintenance-free and non-wearing solenoid armature is the only moving part in the drive. It deflects the metering diaphragm directly by up to 1.25 mm. The capacity ranges from 0.23 1/h to 60 l/h at a back pressure of up to 25 abr. The E X t r o n i c m e t e r i n g pumps comply with the harmonised EC stipulations of EN 5 0 0 1 4 / 5 0 0 1 8 for f l a m e p r o o f type of protection. They feature the highest degree of protection of this type of enclosure. Three different types of activation can be selected for these pumps.
