The total installed cost of the DCU is estimated at about US$650 million. Jacobs’ scope of work includes process packages for the utility and offsite facilities, a detailed feasibility report, PMC services for execution of coker block and sulfur block and EPCM services for the balance of the project.
Black & Veatch/ Chemtex to develop LNG facility in China
C
hina Natural Gas Co Ltd (CNGC) has selected Black & Veatch and Chemtex to design and build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Guangyuan, China that will generate over 700 tonnes per day of LNG for a variety of fuel uses. This is the eighth LNG facility that Black & Veatch and Chemtex have developed in China since 2005. This plant will bring the total clean fuel capacity provided by Black & Veatch to over 5000 tonnes per day. The facility will provide natural gas supplies to China’s West to East gas pipeline during peak usage times or when demand for natural gas is at its highest. LNG from the facility also will be transferred by truck to areas where there is limited or no natural gas infrastructure.

Aker Solutions wins Malaysian project

ker Solutions has been selected by Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Co Sdn Bhd as its contractor for the detailed engineering of the Kebabangan (KBB) Northern Hub development project in the South China Sea, 130 kms offshore Sabah in East Malaysia. Under the four-year NOK170 million contract, Aker Solutions operations in Malaysia will provide detailed design and engineering support through to the start up phase of project. KBB will be a hub for the development of deep water and on-shelf gas and oil assets offshore Northern Sabah.
Santos selects Fluor for Australian LNG project

luor Australia is Santos’s preferred contractor for engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work on the upstream facilities component of the Gladstone Liquefied Natural Gas project in Australia. In anticipation of awarding a full EPC contract, Santos has extended Fluor’s current engineering design contract to include early works activities. Fluor expects to be awarded a full EPC contract for the project later this year.

aipem has secured three onshore contracts in Abu Dhabi together worth approximately US$3.5 billion. Abu Dhabi Gas Development Co Ltd has awarded Saipem three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contracts as part of the Shah Gas develop-
ment program. The development program is designed to treat 1 billion cubic feet per day of sour gas from the Shah field, before separating the sulphur from the natural gas and transporting both to processing facilities at Habshan area, and then to Ruwais. The Shah field is located 180 kms south west of Abu Dhabi city. The first two contracts include the engineering, procurement, and construction of the gas process plant and of the sulphur recovery unit. The third contract covers the engineering, procurement, and construction of nearly 250 km of pipeline for transporting gas, condensate and NGL from the Shah Gas plant to Habshan and ASAB tie-in point. Work will be completed within 52 months.

oster Wheeler AG’s Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) contract by the Abu Dhabi Co for Onshore Oil Operations for the Bab Field expansion and the development of the Qusahwira Field in the United Arab Emirates. Foster Wheeler’s primary role as PMC will be to manage the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tendering and award process and the EPC execution phase.
Shell, PetroChina sign Qatar exploration and production sharing agreement

atar Petroleum has entered into a new Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement with Shell and PetroChina Co Ltd for Qatar Block D. Under the agreement, the partners will jointly explore for natural gas in Block D, which covers an area of 8089 sq km onshore and offshore Qatar and is located close to Ras Laffan.
