ANNOUNCEMENT AMERICAN FEDERATION FOR AGING RESEARCH 1991 GRANT PROGRAM FOR BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH IN GERONTOLOGY AND GERIATRICS Tim AMERICANFederation for Aging Research is offering one-year grants, up to $25,000 each, in support of clinical and basic research on all biomedical aspects of aging. AFAR is especially interested in research dealing with the basic mechanisms of aging, how age predisposes to disease, and such age-related disorders as sensory failure, memory loss and confusion, and incontinence. Proposals from investigators entering the field of aging are especially welcome. Applicants for the AFAR grants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States and must be affiliated with an institution in the United States where the research will be conducted. Applications must be postmarked no later than January 15, 1991, and funding will begin on July 1, 1991.
