the semilunar cartilages showed erosions of the corresponding areas. The articular cartilage of the trochlea was reddened, particularly the inner lip. The posterior portion of the cartilage of the condyles was soft, as in the other femur. The inner condyle showed no erosions, but there were some markings which looked like cica trices. The outer condyle had a slight bony deposit at the outer side corres ponding with that on the outer condyle of the oth er femur, but smaller. Prof. M ettam kindly took the pho tos for me.

A SMALL three-year-old Yorkshire terrier was broug ht to our infirmary by the owner, who had prev iously taken the dog to a chemist, the latter gentleman being unable to relieve the animal. The dog, when jumping off a low wall, had overbalan ced and fall en 16 feet on to the hard road.
Photograph of the Dislocation.
On examination, we found that it had dislocated the wrist joint, forcin g th e foot and l~g forward , so as the par t stuck 01lt at right angles, with the pad of the foot facing upward s. Under chloroform a n res th esia the dislocation was reduced, a nd the parts were afterwards put in a tight splint and bandaged. So far a s I could feel, a nd from the ext reme rig idity of the part before giving chloroform, no ligaments or tendons were ruptured, and there was no frac ture. The d og returned home to his owner next day, and has made an excellent recovery.
