A N N O U N C E M E N T A N D CALL FOR PAPERS Seventh International Symposium on Tubular Structures, 28-30 August 1996, The University of Miskolc, Hungary Organized by the International Institute of Welding, Subcommission XV-E, Comit6 International Pour le D6veloppement et l'Etude de la Construction Tubulaire (CIDECT), University of Miskolc, Hungarian Scientific Society of Mechanical Engineers (GTE)
The 7th ISTS will be held before the IIW Annual Assembly to be organized by the Hungarian Scientific Society of Mechanical Engineers in Budapest on 31 August-6 September 1996. Authors wishing to present papers are invited to submit abstracts of 350-400 words (in English) by 15 October 1995 to lie within one of the following broad areas of interest: • • • • • • • • • •
Projects in tubular construction Design methods Structural analysis including FEM Beam to column connections Optimum design and expert systems Dynamic behaviour, impact, fatigue and earthquake resistance, vibrations, damping Tubular frames with semirigid connections Strength and fatigue behaviour of joints Composite connections High strength steels, aluminium alloys and fibre reinforced polymers
Language The Symposium language will be English
Publication A copy of the refereed proceedings presented during the Symposium will be published by the Organizers in one volume and circulated at the meeting
Exhibition During the Symposium an exhibition will be organized, giving companies a good possibility for advertising and promotion
