Announcing a New Look! For nearly three decades, Brain Research has enjoyed a reputation for bold leadership in establishing new areas of publication in the Brain Sciences, as witnessed by the appearance of Developmental, Molecular and now Cognitive Brain Research sections. In keeping with the necessity to further enhance the quality of reproduction of the Reports and illustrations, Brain Research will introduce the following modifications. From January 1995, Brain Research, and all sections will have a new look! The cover will have a new design, including a black-and-white or color photograph published with every issue. Authors are also encouraged to submit photographs for possible publication on the front cover, and the photograph should preferably relate to the authors’ accepted Research report. The ideal format for submission is described in the Guidelines for the submission of manuscripts. Thicker machine-coated (acid-free) paper will be used to enhance the quality of reproduction of half-tones in particular. Furthermore, half-tones will be processed differently, thereby ensuring more faithful reproduction of the originals. Authors will also have the option to publish certain photographs on a full page (bleeding). Of course, this option will depend on the author submitting originals having the correct dimensions. Please refer to the Guidelines for the submission of manuscripts for further details. For fulllength reports containing mapping data, authors will have an option to publish mapping data, including a second color, free of charge! Finally, sewn binding will be used for issues, for better durability and longevity. In implementing these changes, Brain Research will set new publishing standards. It goes without saying that Brain Research will continue to maintain its high scientific standards. We believe the new Brain Research will provide you with the finest medium available in presenting your research findings to the international Neuroscience community-at-large. Dominick P.
