We are very pleased to announce that Dr. William L. Murphy is taking on a new position at Acta Biomaterialia after serving as a member of the editorial board. Dr. Murphy will be the new Editor for Special Content alongside Editor-in-Chief Dr. William R. Wagner and Editor Dr. Marc Bohner. Dr. Murphy has a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, 2002) and postdoctoral training in chemistry at the University of Chicago. He is currently the Harvey D. Spangler Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Co-Director of the Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. materials for applications in stem cell biology and in medical devices. Professor Murphy has published more than 100 manuscripts, filed over 25 patents, and has received among other honors the NSF Career Award in 2008 and in 2010 the Wisconsin Vilas Associate Award for new and on-going research of the highest quality and significance, as well as induction as a Fellow in the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.
