Antimony-based flame retardants added to PolymerAdditives.com offering Albemarle Corporation and Laurel Industries, a whollyowned subsidiary of Occidental Chemical Corporation, have reached a definitive agreement allowing Albemarle to distribute Laurel's antimony-based flame retardants through PolymerAdditives.com, L.L.C. Albemarle says that PolymerAdditives.com will offer SAYTEX® FS and TG flame retardants produced by Laurel as Fireshield® and Thermoguard® antimony oxides, respectively.

"The decision by Albemarle to make the widely used synergist, antimony oxide, available through PolymerAdditives. com lets our customers take even greater advantage of the one-stop shop capability, broad logistics and distribution network, and e-commerce platform," says Scan McKeon, president of PolymerAdditives. com.

"We are pleased with this agreement and see it as a natural fit between two lead-

ing providers of flame retardant technology," adds Gery Maneth, plastic additives business manager for Laurel. "We believe Albemarle and PolymerAdditives.com will help us reach even more customers." Laurel Industries manufactures speciality and high-purity grades of antimony oxides for flame retardant markets and polyester (PET) polymerization catalyst applications.

PolymerAdditives.com is an e-business joint venture owned equally by Albemarle Corporation, Cytec Industries Inc. and GE Specialty Chemicals, Inc. The venture is designed to market a broad array of polymer additives to customers worldwide. PolymerAdditives.com currently offers almost 200 products.
