The fifty-third annual m eeting of the Connecticut State Dental A ssociation w ill be held at the H otel Griswold, New L on ­ don, Connecticut, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, June 28th, 29th and 30th, 1917. Special effort is being made by the com m ittee in charge to make this the m ost successful m eeting in our history. Distinguished m em bers of the profession have been secured to give interesting pa­ pers and clinics. An innovation this year is the use o f m oving picture films to show many operations, both surgical and den­ tal. The Hotel- Griswold, with its fine loca ­ tion, luxurious appointments and w onder­ ful cuisine offers an ideal place for this convention. It is conducted on the A m er­ ican plan and special rates have been made by the management. A banquet w ill be given Friday evening for- w hich no additional charge will be made, with a m ost interesting speaker, follow ed by a dance in the ball room. The Trunk Lines, New England and Central Passenger A ssociations have granted a rate of tw o cents per m ile in each direction, going and returning via the same route only, lim ited to m idnight o f O ctober 30th. Going tickets in Trunk Line territory w ill be on sale O ctober 19th, 20th, 21st, at the one w ay fares, on the certificate plan, these certificates to be endorsed by General Secretary Otto U. K ing and to be validated by the Special Agent of the railroads who w ill be in attendance on O ctober 24th-25th-26th. Return tickets to be sold on presentation o f validated certificates O ctober 24th to 29th at the difference between the fares paid on the going trip and the fares fo r the round trip. Return lim ited to continuous pas­ sage to destination and not later than O ctober 30th. This applies on tickets w ith a minimum o f $1.00 for round trip. S E C T IO N OF O R A L H Y G IE N E . .The local com m ittee is planning an Oral Hygiene program that w ill be of value to mem bers from every community. Efforts are being made to assem ble the many oral hygiene educational exhibits w hich will be displayed in the large audi­ torium of the M etropolitan Building. An afternoon session is to be devoted to in­ dustrial dentistry, to w hich w ill be in­ vited representatives from the welfare departments of large m anufacturing con­ cerns. vForceful and well inform ed speak­ ers w ill discuss this subject. A t an evening m eeting in the Grand Ball R oom at the H otel Astor, the sub­ ject, “ Dental Conservation o f the School Child,” w ill be taken up topically by men o f experience and a ll'in terested in mu­ nicipal clinics, com m unity clinics, and lecture work in the public schools, will find a fund of inform ation at this m eet­ ing. A conference w ill also be arranged to discuss the Dental H ygienists consider­ ing legislation, curriculum and training and her place in private office and clinic. A L B E R T H.
