IN MEMORIAM

Arnold Wieser Arnold Wieser died in San Francisco, California, on June 23,1971, after a brief illness. He was 60 years old. Dr. Wieser graduated from Curriculum II, University of California, in June, 1945, and at the time of his death practiced in Kentfield. He joined the teaching staff of the Division of Orthodontics in 1949 and served as a member of that staff until July, 1965. During this time he appeared on many professional orthodontic programs at both the national and local levels. His associates knew him not only as an excellent orthodontist but also as an avid sportsman. Fishing, hunting, and golf served as recreational outlets. He was particularly proud of his ability with a bow and arrow, in both target shooting and hunting. Those who accompanied him on any of these trips will give testimony to his drive and competitive spirit. Anyone who outdid Arnold had to be having a good day. He w;ts a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, a member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontia, and member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary dental fraternity. He is survived by his wife, Edith, and four daughters, Kathryn, Ellen, Marian, and Elizabeth. Other members of his family include three brothers and two sisters. Those who were associated with Arnold knew him as a perfectionist. He had the ability to stimulate, the will to teach by demonstration, and the desire that, everyone seek to improve himself. He will be missed, but he has left his mark-the highest standards professionally, morally, and ethically. Eugene West
