EARLI As the days begin to shorten and the temperatures are slowly dropping, EARLI is already looking forward to a busy summer schedule. With more than 20 SIG Conferences and a JURE Conference taking place all over Europe, the summer can't come quick enough! SIG Conferences 2016 The EARLI Special Interest Groups (SIGs) are more active than ever. During the summer of 2016, they will be organising over 20 different Conferences in 13 European countries. A wide variety of research topics will be explored, examined and discussed at some of Europe's finest universities and colleges. Currently, most SIGs have announced their first calls for papers. EARLI wishes to encourage everyone to get involved, and submit a proposal. Papers, posters and symposia proposals will be welcomed by one of our 27 Special Interest Groups. If you haven't made any plans yet for your summer vacation, make sure to have a look at the comprehensive SIG Conference Calendar, to be found on the EARLI website (www.earli.org)! JURE Conference 2016 EARLI is equally proud to announce its annual Junior Researchers (JURE) Conference, which will take place at the University of Helsinki, from the 4th until the 8th of July 2016. The university, which lies in the heart of Finland's capital city, is the oldest and biggest university of the country. It recently celebrated its 375th anniversary and continues to be marked as one of the top universities in the world. The Conference theme, “Education in a dynamic world: Facing the future”, will provide plenty of food for thought. As we live in a dynamic world that changes day by day, it is vital to acknowledge the many challenges education faces. The JURE 2016 Conference aims to enhance the field of education by raising questions about how we can make our education future-proof. As always, both Junior as Senior Researchers are invited to submit a proposal for the JURE Conference. All information can be found at www.earli-jure2016.org. 17th Biennial Conference in Tampere, Finland 2017 It is with great pleasure that EARLI announces its 17th Biennial Conference, which will take place in the beautiful city of Tampere, in the south of Finland (29th of August e 2nd of September 2017). The Conference theme, Education in the Crossroads of Economy and Politics, will serve as a lead through five days of presentations, discussions and talks. Surrounded by lakes and forests, Tampere will provide the perfect setting for fruitful and rigorous discussions on the latest educational topics. Education & Learning: EAPRIL 2015 Conference As always, EAPRIL keeps on being as innovative as possible by updating its presentation formats each year. The ‘flipping the session’ sessions integrate video presentations and generates more opportunities for in-depth discussion. New this year is the format ‘practice meets research’. This session is especially designed to give the floor to practitioners get who can present their case from practice, and benefit from a nice discussion with researchers and other practitioner(s- researchers). Also our Award has gained interest and will be awarded for the 4th time. Finally, the success of our school visits is also noteworthy. As a result, also in 2015, school visits will be organised in different schools with various educational levels in Luxembourg for everyone who is interested in the educational system of Luxembourg. Also the Ministry of Education of Luxembourg will provide an appealing introduction to provide us more contextual information about the education system and the teacher education in Luxembourg.
