SULPHONATION OF TETRADEC-1-ENE WITH GASEOUS SULPHUR TRIOXIDE V. M. Sapel'nikov, V. G. Pravdin, V. A. R u n o v a n d M. N. M a n a k o v , Neftekhimi~a 25, N o . 1, 110-114, 1985. OLEFIN sulphonates, sultones, polysulphonic acids and cyclic sulphate-sulphonates are formed during sulphonation of tetradec-l-ene with gaseous sulphur trioxide. The highest overall yield of target products (95 %), is obtained with a molar ratio of chemisorbed SO3 : olefin of 1.1 to 1-15, a process temperature of 30°-40°C and a SO3 concentration in the gaseous phase of 1 to 5 vol.~. STUDY OF PYROLYSIS OF PARAFFINIC GAS-CONDENSATE S. R. Sergiyenko, K. K h a n k u l i y e v a n d B. A. K u l ' d z h a y e v , Neftekhimiya 25, No. 1, 137-1 37, 1985. THE optimum pyrolytic temperature for the paraffinic gas-condensates of South-Eastern Turkmenistan (undivided condensate and its fractions) is 825°-850°C. It was shown that the gas-condensate studied is only inferior in basic indices of pyrolysis (ethylene yield, overall yield of C2-C4 olefins and the ratio of ethylene : propylene), to ethane and normal butane and exceeds propane and all petroleum fractions, including light, straight-run gasoline. Maximum yields of C3-C4 and C2-C~ olefins are observed with a reaction time of 0.3 to 0.5 sec, and of ethylene at 0"7 to/-3 sec. A considerable part of the ethylene is apparently formed as a result of secondary reactions of C3-C4 olefin conversion. INTERACTION OF AROMATIC HYDROCARBONS WITH ALKYNES (REVIEW) V. D. Z a m i l o v a , T. G. Biktimirova a n d V. I. Sokolova, Neftekhimiya 25, No. 2, 159-1 62, 1985. A RAPID atomic-absorption method was developed for determining vanadium and nickel in gas-oil fractions without previous condensation; the limit of detection is 5 × 10 -6 and 2-5 × 10-6 %, respectivel y.

MODIFICATION of alLminosilicate catalysts with compounds containing fluorine ligands, e.g. NiSiF6 and CH(BF4)2 increases the isomerization activity of the catalyst.
