EDUCATIONAL EVENTS Asian Congress of Nutrition September 9-13, 2007, International Convention Center, Taipei, Taiwan. The 10th Asian Congress of Nutrition (ACN), hosted and organized by Nutrition Society of Taiwan under the auspices of Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS), will cover topics under the theme “Diet, Nutrition, and Optimal Health: From Food Supply to Nutrigenomics.” Please visit http://www. 2007acn.org.tw for more information. Institute of Medicine Workshop September 18-20, 2007, Washington, DC. “Dietary Reference Intakes, 19942004: Lessons Learned and New Challenges.” This 3-day Institute of Medicine workshop will explore the process for developing Dietary Reference Intakes (DRIs). While the “new” process for DRI development that was put in place in 1994 has had many successes, it is now appropriate and timely to review the approach used and to consider options that may enhance the development of DRIs. The workshop will serve as a forum for experts from various disciplines and with different perspectives to identify and discuss issues that have arisen during the overall development and implementation of the DRIs— with an eye to their future. Further details are available at www.iom.edu/ driworkshop2007. Interested persons will be required to register in order to attend the workshop, but there is no cost to attend. For more information, please contact Sandra Amamoo-Kakra at 202/334-1326 or DRIworkshop2007@ nas.edu.
