Author Newsletters and Journals Margaret C. Patterson Enthusiastic admirers of novelists, poets, and dramatists continue to find the small author newsletter or journal a satisfying vehicle for publishing new critical studies and disseminating news and notes on any subject germane to their chosen writer. This, the third supplement to Author Newsletters and Journals 1 describes no less than 50 new periodicals devoted to an individual author; 77 important publishing changes in periodicals already described in Author Newsletters and Journals and its two supplements (which appeared in Serials Review, 8:4, Winter 1982 and 10: t, Spring 1984); two title changes; and three cessations: News from Anywhere (about William Morris), Sean O'Casey Review,~and Journal of the Otto Rank Association. Even moredmportant, it adds 18 names to the list of 465 authors to whom 1,272 newsletters and journals are dedicated: Ayme, Bataille, Bloch, Buchner, Cartland, Clare, Gautier, Georg, Jouve, Kraus, Leautaud, Lecavele, Nestroy, Oswald yon Wolkenstein, Roud, Schwitters, Vialatte, and Wharton. The following entries contain (1) publishing information and descriptions of newly created author newsletters and journals and (2) major factual changes in established periodicals that have occurred since the first two bibliographies were published in 1979 and 1982. "ANJ" is placed at the margin of several entries with factual changes to indicate that the original, complete citations for those periodicals may be found in the first bibliography, Author Newsletters and Journals. Several other entries are marked "Sup 1" or "Sup 2" to indicate whether their original, complete citations appeared in the first or second supplement.
