refurbished -the existing liltration equipment was obsolete and spare parts were beccming hard to fmd. This entails replacing the heavy fuel oil filtration system that controls the qualiw of oil flowing from the central fuel tanks to the boilers, with Vi fully automatic self-cleaning filters supplied by Airpel Filtration. A total of eight filters will be used, two servicing each boiler. The SLS solid-liquid separator from Osprey is designed to remove at least 95% of particles from a water/solids slurry or sludge. It is a modular unit, that is said to have been particularly effective with fibrous effluent and is delivered pre-wired with an integral control panel. Slurry is pumped onto a moving screen, the water draining through to leave the solids behind. The water is assisted in its drainage passage in two ways.
