EDITORIAL Bimonthly Publication, Same Number of Pages Beginning with the January issue, year 2000, the journal will publish the same number of pages per year, but publish these pages in 6 large issues rather than in the current 12 issues. We will continue to publish the same number of articles on the same topics as we have done in the last year. So, you may ask, why the change? The trend in the behavioral sciences has been for researchers to more thoroughly develop their theoretical position, often by including more than one study in an article. The result has been longer articles, and with 12 issues a year, sometimes as few as 3 articles filled an issue. Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes serves two audiences, one concerned with judgment and decision-making research and the other with organizational behavior. Although these audiences overlap and have natural intersections, many readers are not equally interested in both domains. Given the size of the monthly issues in the last year, we have experienced cases in which the set of articles in a single issue did not represent both domains. By publishing longer issues bimonthly we aim to provide articles from both domains in every issue. The change will have no effect on the nature or quality of the articles that appear in the journal. The latter depends entirely on the scholars in the field who look to the journal as an outlet for their work. In this regard, in spite of the increased number of journals available to researchers, submissions to the journal were up over 20% in 1998, and the rate for 1999 is matching that of 1998. Furthermore, submitted manuscripts remain equally divided between organizational behavior and judgment and decision making. We appreciate the continued support of the scholarly community served by the journal and will continue to provide an outlet for research aimed at the understanding of human behaviors important in organizations.
