BONE Expands Board and Editorial Content
Now in its seventh volume, BONE has become in the field of bone and mineral research.
a well established
and respected
journal
To better reflect the growth of BONE and its international character, we have opened a new European Editorial Office, with Pierre Meunier as Editor. In addition, we have added four Associate Editors, two in the US and two in Europe, to share with us the responsibilities of running the Journal. The four are Ernest0 Canalis, Herbert Fleisch, Steven Goldring and John Kanis. We are proud that they have accepted this task and consider their acceptance a great honor for BONE. The high reputations of these four individuals constitute a guarantee of continued fairness and high quality in our editorial policies. We would like to encourage our contributors to submit articles to the Editor or Associate Editor of their choice, according to their domain of expertise. In the last year BONE has grown markedly in circulation, and it has increased the number of papers published. In addition, we regularly publish the abstracts of the Bone and Tooth Society of England, one of the most active societies in the field; and we expect to publish the abstracts of the International Workshop on Calcified Tissues, held in March 1986 in Israel. With Volume 7 we are introducing two new Journal sections:
a number of new editorial
policies.
We have begun
Rapid Communications: For this section, brief papers (4 printed pages or less) that do not require revisions can now be accepted and inserted very rapidly into the next available issue in press. Mini-reviews: For state-of-the-art, very short topical reviews. Also, we will now offer our foreign authors access to an English-language vice upon request.

With the help of our new Associate Editors, we will keep the standards so dear to our first and Founding Editor, Ralph Goldsmith, who has decided to devote himself to his other activities. We want to take this opportunity to thank him for the extraordinary input he has had in the birth and development of BONE. Ralph has had a most profound and important influence on the Journal and on ourselves, giving us the opportunity to learn at first hand what gentlemanship and scientific knowledge and honesty can do together. Thank you most sincerely. Our authors and readers can be assured that BONE will continue to publish quality, innovative scientific articles. We continue to strive for excellence.
