A possible drawback of this book is its brevity and emphasis on dynamical aspects of the interstellar medium but it can be remedied by supplemental reading. In sum, this book provides a good discussion of the basic physics of the interstellar medium and can serve well as the primary text for an undergraduate course on the interstellar medium. J. C. Higdon
