Mycena renati (Key). sometimes has a coloured lamella-edge especially towards the cap margin and latex-free specimens of M. sanguinoJenta and M. haematopus might bring one to this key. so it is important to check the substratum and examine more than one basidiome if possible. Mycena pearsoniana (Key G). which has the habit of M. pure, sometimes has coloured lamella-edges when young. it has decurrent lamellae. no coloured pleurocystidia and inamyloid spores; this species could lead to this key.
