Call for Scientific Papers New York, New York Meeting May 9-13,
1990
The 1990 Convention and Scientific Program of the Society of Biological Psychiatry will be held at the Sheraton Centre Hotel and Tower in New York City from May 9-13, 1990. This meeting of our Society will be held immediately prior to the Scientific Program of the American Psychiatric Association. Investigators wishing to present papers are requested to enter titles, authors, addresses, and abstracts of 250 words on the abstract forms available. The completed form plus ten additional copies should be sent to David J. Kupfer, M.D., Chairman of the Program Committee, Society of Biological Psychiatry at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, 38 11 O’Hara Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Copies of the abstracts will be distributed by Dr. Kupfer to the other members of the Program Committee. Papers dealing with either laboratory or clinical studies and relevant to any aspect of biological psychiatry will be considered. Both oral presentation and poster sessions will be held. If you prefer a poster session, please indicate this on the abstract form.
The deadline for the receipt of abstracts is December 15, 1989. The theme of this year’s program is “Biological Rhythms in Psychiatry: Order and Disorder.” Not only are the biological bases of psychiatric disorders intricately bound up with disturbances in various biological rhythms, but it is becoming increasingly important to understand how drugs and other therapeutic interventions affect and are affected by biological rhythms. Because the scientific study of biological rhythms represents an interdisciplinary effort, the scientific program of our meeting will reflect an integration of various disciplines.
