LNP and Buyer sign trudemurk licencing ugreement A trademark licence agreement between LNP Engineering Plastics and Bayer Plastics Division will allow LNP to develop, manufacture and sell small-lot, pre-coloured compounds based on Centrex@ weatherable polymers. LNP adds that it is the only company licenced by Bayer to market the materials and will do so under the Colorcomp@’ brand of pre-coloured, unfilled thermoplastic compounds. The agreement will allow Bayer to penetrate niche applications more effectively, where small lots of materials are required. LNP is able to increase its offering of high-quality, highperformance pre-coloured compounds. “The agreement provides better access to these weatherable polymers by enabling the marketing of much smaller lots than previously available,” says Josh Blackmore, Colorcomp product marketing manager for LNI? “We are combining Bayer’s leadership

in high performance weatherable materials with LNP’s ability to develop and manufacture small lots of precoloured resins both accurately and quickly.” The companies believe that the agreement should open up new market opportunities for both organizations. Centrex weatherable polymers are based on high gloss, high impact grades of acrylonitrile styrene acrylate (ASA) and blends of ASA and acrylonitrile EPDM styrene @ES). While providing good resistance to weather ageing, Centrex weatherable polymers are also said to offer a good balance of physical properties and processing performance. The polymers find use in a wide range of lawn care, marine, recreational, cable and automotive applications, and are injection mouldable and extrudable.
