The design of certain new-types of top profiles of counterpart racks is reported and stress concentrations on the gear fillets, which are cut by these top profiles, are calculated by using the boundary element method. The selection of optimum design parameters for the new-type of top profiles is also studied, which increases the bending fatigue strength of the gears considerably. CJ90-34. This paper describes experimental results on the frictional pressure drop of steam-water two-phase flow in a high pressure water loop. The experiments were conducted under heated and unheated conditions. The purpose of the experiments is to check the equation for frictional pressure drop that has been regarded as the standard hydraulic equation of frictional pressure drop in power boilers. The results show that the equation is more convenient and accurate to use in comparison with other frictional pressure drop equations. CJ90-36. A theoretical analysis of complete stability and automatic vibration isolation for impact and vibration systems with double masses. By SHU ZHONGZHOU(Southwest Jiaotong University, Chendu, China) et al. Chinese J. Mech. Engng 26, No. 3 (June, 1990), pp. 50-57.
In this paper, a theoretical analysis of automatic vibration isolation for impact and vibration systems with double masses is presented. The concept of complete stability of discrete time systems is first established and a criterion for complete stability is then obtained. Finally, the above results are applied to the calculation of inertial flask shakers and this may be used as the theoretical basis to solve the long open problem concerning strong vibrations of the base of flask shakers. 961
