ussian pump manufacturer HMS Hydraulic Machines & Systems Group plc has started trading on the London Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol HMSG (see Pump Industry Analyst, January 2011). The pump company’s initial public offering (IPO) at US$8.25 per share, resulted in aggregate gross proceeds of US$360 million. Colfax Corp acquires Rosscor Holding

olfax Corp has bought Rosscor Holding BV, a Dutch supplier of multiphase pumping technology (MPP) and related technologies for the global oil & gas market. Grundfos registers colour as trademark

anish pump manufacturer Grundfos has registered a shade of red as a trademark. “We now have a confirmation that only we are allowed to use the well known red colour coded NCS 4050R G5359 for circulator pumps,” said Kristina Klimova, legal counsel at Grundfos Holding. “It gives us a unique basis when in the future we’ll try to stop imitators of our UPS and ALPHA pumps.” It took Grundfos two years to register the colour as a trademark. Weir Iraq cash supports water, humanitarian projects
S
ome of the money recently confiscated from the Weir Group for breaching UN sanctions on Iraq will be spent on Iraqi water projects (see Pump Industry Analyst, December 2010). The Scottish government is allocating £1.5 million of the £13.9 million seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act to support water development in Iraq and humanitarian programmes in Iraq and Afghanistan, while the remaining £12.4 million will be used to fund community projects in Scotland. Late last year Weir admitted two charges of breaching UN sanctions in connection with a number of UN Oil-for-Food programme contracts awarded between 2000 and 2002 in Iraq. Weir was subject to a £13 945 962 confiscation order in respect of its benefit from the offences and was fined £3 million.
