Commenton ccMagneticcircular dichroism studies-XXXI. Thioketones” J. P. ENQELBRECHT, Q. D. ANDERSON, E. LINDER, L. SE~MANS and A. MOSCOWITZ THE AUTHORS might wish to note that the first magneto-optical study on such systems was reported by COTTON and SCH&RER in Comptes Rendus, 195, 1342 (1932). It is reproduced in Schutz’ classic work in the Handbuch der Experimental Physik, XVI, part 1, page 36. The particular compound studied was thiobenzophenone and the study was really the first magneto-optical study on an absorbing species of other-than-atomic complexity in the condensed phase. The spectra published are consistent with the interpretation of the present authors. PROF. M. KENT
