COMMENT ON “NON-LINEAR VIBRATION OF CIRCULAR PLATES WITH TRANSVERSE SHEAR AND ROTATORY INERTIA” One of our papers [l] has been referenced in two recent papers [2,3]. In reference [2], the authors make an anknowledgment to one of the reviewers for -advising them that he believed there to be an erroneous formulation in our paper [l]. The authors did not include in reference [2] any other comments of their own on reference [l] nor discuss any aspect of our formulation. However, in another later paper [3] on the same topic, the common author quoted the results of reference [l] and presented a good agreement of his results with those in reference [l]. We fail to understand this contradictory situation unless a correcting note on reference [3] also has been published recently. In reference [2], possibly to satisfy the reviewer, the authors eliminated any comparison of results with reference [l]. We feel that we are entitled to a more critical and consistent comparison of our results by the authors. We further wish to bring to the notice of the authors the consistent agreement of our results with continuum results in various situations, as quoted in reference [4], and also the referencing of our papers by other authors [5-71 reporting a consistent agreement of the results.
