Custom vanes, rotors and Compact range aimed end plates for rotary range at small businesses Metallized Carbon Corporation has launched a range of custom vanes, rotors and end plates for use in rotary vane pumps. Designed for both liquid and gas, Metcar says the carbon-graphite components provide superior lubrication in most environments
Designed for both liquid and gas the carbon-graphite components, such as these aircraft rotors, aim to provide improved lubrication.
and are suited to pumping liquids with poor lubricating qualities, strong chemicals that attack metals and to pump air, vacuum, combustion products and gasoline vapors. Applications include automotive anti-smog pumps and gasoline vapor pick up pumps, breathable air pumps and vacuum pumps. In-liquid applications include vending machine beverage pumps, fuel and liquid chemical pumps and medical liquid pumps. “With dimensionally stability and high strength to weight ratio, the components are available in several grades of Metcar’s proprietary carbon/graphite material,” said chief operating officer Matthew Brennan. www.metcar.com
Kirloskar Brothers (KBL) has launched a new range of pumps designed to reduce maintenance time and cost of ownership for small firms. The i-CAN series has a seal-free glandless design making it suitable for ice making plants, dairies and other refrigeration-related businesses. KBL says the compact, lightweight design means it occupies less space and dismantling time is minimized. “In the process industry, maintenance of pumps is a critical task. Normally, this requires skilled manpower to handle pumps. The i-CAN series brings in simplicity of operation as well as maintenance,” said KBL managing director Sanjay Kirloskar.

The pumps are capable of handling toxic, explosive, hazardous, cryogenic and corrosive fluids and will be suitable for vacuum-tight applications and for fluids which react when they come in contact with the atmosphere. www.kirloskarpumps.com
