Thefollowing listings include the latest offerings. PULSE OXIMETER Nonin Medical, Inc. (Plymouth, MN) has introduced its Model 8500 Hand-Held Pulse Oximeter. Pocket-size and portable, Model 8500 delivers onthe-spot continuous readings of more than 2,000 individual measurements, all on a single set of batteries. When used with Nonin reusable, interchangeable sensors, it provides performance equal to larger units costing more. Model 8500 weighs 10 oz., features 80 hours of operation on six AA batteries.
COMPACT TRANSPORT MONITOR Siemens Medical Systems, Inc. (Iselin, NJ) has introduced a compact patient transport monitor, the Sirecust 630. The unit provides data acquisition, display, and signal processing capabilities as patients are moved to and from the operating room, intensive care unit, and for emergency situations. The lightweight Sirecust 630 (5.7 lbs.) monitors EKG, non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), invasive pressures and temperature. A special "turbo-cuff' mode allows for a fast recycle of NIBP during an emergency situation.
